Prior to school fees being due in Kenya we were able to go to Phoenix, Arizona USA and fundraise. We had purchased some purses and other items to sell during a craft fair and response was well received with many flyers handed out to the attendees and over $280 raised for orphans needs in Kenya=food, clothing, school fees, school uniforms, etc. We thank you for your continued support in prayers and financially.
Thanks to donations she has received from us and others she was able to travel to Quatar and work there. Since she arrived back in Kenya a change has happened in her life due to our influence in her life. She has become more independent financially, obtaining a job in Migori and has become more dependent on God and less dependent on people. In the past she has been hurt from family and friends who have harassed her emotionally and financially. She is looking through wisdom now to see motives and dis associate from those who are playing games. She has matured and is thankful for the financial support, but more importantly the spiritual and emotional support we have been providing during this transition to emancipation. She is now supporting girls in that area that are facing similar problems to what she did.
The financial help from you our friends we were able to supply for Joyce's school fees, uniform and other needs such as food and clothing. We recently talked with the grandparents and they were very thankful to all of you who contributed to Joyce's well being. We will need to send more money in April for the next school session starting in May.
Talked to Mercy today and she has received $500 of her $1500 goal to go to Quatar and work to pay off her school fees. She currently is in Kenya living with her Grandma as her Mum and Dad are no longer living. UPDATE: Mercy was able to get the funds and will be going to Quatar to work. This is a goal so she can become more independent and she has a heart for others who have issues with family support: orphans, poor, etc.
My name is Mercy Chepkoech from Kenya. I am an orphan who has been raised by my grandmother. I used to work in the United Arab Emirates to be able to clear my high school fee balance which was $750 and take care of my grandmother too, but through God's grace I now have a balance of just $200.
I got another better job opportunity in the UAE which I would love to go so that I may achieve my goals: I want to pay my college fee in full and help the girls in our village who are being lured by young men to be school dropouts. My main aim is to start an organization that will help educate the young girls on importance of education and motivate them by building them a library. The job contract goes for two years and I believe that by the end of the two years I will have achieved my goals, dreams and wishes.
Help me so that I may help others because I believe that being an orphan doesn’t mean that I will miss an opportunity to be somebody great. I have faith that I will finish college and help my community.
If you are touched kindly help me raise the travelling fee and I will be greatful to God and know that he is Ebenezer…he has brought me too far to leave me. Attached is a photo of me and grandma saying thank you.
God bless you for blessed is the hand that giveth.
Charity is a widow with a young daughter Tasha. She was desperate for her daughters school fees and uniforms. We were able to provide some seed money which Charity purchased clothing items and sold them. Charity was able to buy her daughters school uniform and pay for her school fees with the profits from her sales. Thank you for providing the seed money for this family.
Joyce Mugure Muchai's parents separated and both turned to alcohol and were not able to take care of Joyce. Her grandaprents stepped in to take care of Joyce, who is 8 years old in form 4 at Westlands Primary School. Because of your help we were able to provide Joyce's school fees.
